Entrenched

Duncan is never happier than when engaged in a Big Project. And the new warehouse is such a project.

With all the enthusiasm of a boy with a new train set, Duncan has been digging a trench to take a dedicated pipe that will contain all the communication cables from the distillery across no-man's land to the Vatican warehouses on the hill - as well as the new warehouse in between. The rough ground has a myriad of different wires, cables, and pipes laid at various times over the last century criss-crossing the hillside site: water pipes, mains electricity, fire alarms, telephones, drains, field drains, fibre optics.

Having successfully negotiated this minefield with 22 ton diggers and unearthed the mains electricity supply a mere foot or so beneath the surface, today he located the fibre optic cable too - unfortunately with a little less subtlety - cutting right through it.  This cable not only connects the warehouses with the bottling hall but also serves the Watch Whisky Mature web cam -  http://www.camvista.com/scotland/scenic/watchwhiskymaturecam.php

Normal service should be resumed shortly. Luckily it wasn't the mains cable.
