We have just bottled some Port Ellen for Murray McDavid. Distilled in 1982 - a year before the distillery was shut down - these are some of the dwindling few casks that remain. For those that would like that ultimate piece of distilling history, we are offering one of the barrel ends in aid of the 2009 BBC Children in Need appeal.

The barrel end stencilled Port Ellen 1982 is offered for 'blind auction' and interested parties can submit a bid by e-mailing caskendbid@bruichladdich.com  All bids should be in pounds sterling (£) and must be received by Monday 23rd November. In the first instance, only the bid amount and a contact name is required. The person submitting the highest bid will then be contacted to arrange payment and delivery.

The full amount of the winning bid will be donated to the Children in Need appeal and Bruichladdich will cover the postage to send the cask end to it's lucky new owner.
