Several Issues
Several Issues
Here are the answers to various points raised in recent blog entries:-
The 2001 Bruichladdich is the first full scale bottling (by our humble standards) of 2001 distilled Bruichladdich. Created by Jim from multiple casks, with complementary characteristics, it is not a single cask bottling of which there have been several, nor is it heavily peated like the Port Charlotte at 40ppm. There is however, a little peatiness lingering there...
Octomore: the release notification for the futures bottling of Octomore will be going out to Futures owners later this week. The distillery bottling, assembled from multiple casks with various attributes that together, as one would expect/hope, bring an extra complexity to the bottling - will follow probably next month. Be prepared for a surprise.
This blog: as the introduction explains, this blog is about life at Bruichladdich, the aim being to show candidly what life is like at a busy hebridean distillery - warts and all. With this in mind as well as the more positive aspects I have not shirked from including embarrassing events, difficult matters, self-deprecating issues, controversial topics, sensitive subjects as well as the more frivolous occurrences. I do not really expect any comments to be left by the public. For specific questions a comprehensive list of relevant contacts is provided on the main website. But when they are added, on the whole, they have been more or less responsible. In this spirit, despite the temptation, we have never censored any unfavourable or unflattering comments no matter how provocative. Nor have we replied to, intervened on, or influenced comments. Clearly, the use of annonimity, pseudonyms, nom de plumes for whatever reason means that folk can be bolder in their views than they usually would - even downright mischievous. We can trace certain ISP addresses. I would ask that if you are going to leave a comment (and remember that is not the point of this blog) then please be constructive - or at least prepared to deliver it face-to face.
