Barley Harvest Update
Barley Harvest Update
The weather has been holding up this week - the forecasted heavy rains ended up being surprisingly localised short sharp showers. Yesterday was fine weather, today and tomorrow are to be continued fine, sunny weather which will help reduce the moisture content of the barley that had risen from 14% before the period of unsettled weather. The majority of the 700 tonne harvest should be in by Friday evening before the gale forecast for the early hours of Saturday morning, though this now looks like it will be less strong than anticipated - more a force 6. The dry weather is set to continue to at least Monday. So far so good.
