Tropos, the new data management system installed to coordinate between all the various departments went live last night.

The Customs & Excise approved system links the production, bulk stocks, cask movements, bottling operations, dry goods stocks, invoicing and exporting documentation. As the  manufacturers of the system were keen to explain, it is the first time that they have installed the system where all operations occur in one place - and that too on a remote island where the necessary support is inaccessible. It is a testament to Simon's team, therefore, that the project has developed so speedily - and on time. So far, so good.

Going live happened in more senses than one when the building was struck by lightning, delaying the start by 2 hours. Fire alarms triggered two fire engines and crew appearing in an isolated heavy downpour.
