I reported a week ago, crowing  that the Islay barley was looking good. Since then we had a week of showers and humid weather. The ground is softening up which will make it difficult for machinery to get on the land if it continues this way.  The  forecast for the week ahead is fortunately for cooler weather (it's of course all relative) with a gale for Saturday.  We need some light wind and fine weather to dry out the barley which hopefully Wednesday and Thursday may provide.  Fingers crossed.
